Today was a mild Winter day, I love that! My Three Floor fur parka finally arrived in the mail. I have been lusting after this coat for months, and when it finally went on sale at Free People, I bit the bullet and bought it.  So glad I did! The bottom half actually zips off to a jacket, and that is how I chose to wear it today. I also love wearing my Plush fleece lined tights in Winter.  They are super warm, and allow you to wear skirts and dresses in Winter weather without being cold. Oh, and you can grab these gorgeous leopard gloves at J Crew on sale!  Every woman need some leopard in her life. 😉 We shot today on our roof.  I love NYC.  Happy Thursday!

Happy Sunday. 😉  I spent my Sunday with my amazing boyfriend in our neighborhood. It was chilly today, but not too cold. Yay! I scored these amazing metallic jeans at Forever 21! (Can you believe it? So affordable!) In fact, my hat, jeans, and sweater are all from Forever 21, and probably only cost a total of $55 for everything! Who said you can’t look good on a budget?  My Mackage coat is an ebay find, for 50 percent off.  I love their coats, they are so warm and stylish.  We ended our day at our favorite Pizza place in Astoria.   Yum. Great way to end a Sunday.  How was your weekend?

Julie zara pantsJulie zara pants body shotThe weather in NYC has been unseasonably warm, which is pleasant to walk around it,  but scary at the same time for those of us worried about global warming. (like me) Nevertheless….it’s a great excuse to wear my favorite burgundy Balenciaga leather jacket. Similar HERE and HERE.  Pants are Zara. I love the leopard print on them. Fashion Minx and Sequin Cinderella

So excited to finally meet Nicola in person!!!

I was lucky enough to meet and work with the fabulous, and well known Irish blogger Nicola from The Sequin Cinderella! This was Nicola’s first trip to NYC, and she loved it! For our shoot, we chose Times Square, the heart of NYC as our location.  We chose to wear skirts and dresses mixed with boots which give off a tough/feminine look- which is perfect for this city. We hit Sephora, walked around Times Square, and had fun with some police officers! Of course, we also talked shopping, finding deals in the city, and ways to protect yourself from the harsh NYC winter temps while still showcasing your style! It was a very cold night, which called for a lot of layering! I am a huge fan of fur vests because you can layer them under, or above a coat or jacket! (That night I did both)  I wore my blue feather vest from Topshop.  I love the texture of it, and it’s super warm!  There are tons of adorable fur vests out there, both real and faux. I also love THIS ONE, THIS ONE,  and THIS ONE. Nicola wore a gorgeous lace dress from Zara with studded boots by Chiara Ferragni. I love the look of a feminine lace dress mixed with tough biker style boots.  Similar dresses HERE, and HERE.  Also, I love these studded boots by ASH.   I went with a cobalt blue theme, wearing my blue Celine (similar bag HERE) , blue J Crew top, and my blue bubble necklace. Oh….and my cobalt blue YSL ARTY RING.  (They were recently discontinued, so if you are lusting after one, get one now!!)

White Fall Dress….two ways

White Fall Dress White Fall DressWhite Fall DressWhite Fall DressWhite Fall Dress White Fall DressWhite Fall Dress We are experiencing an unusual heat wave in NYC lately.  (By heat wave, I mean 50 degrees in November!) I bought this gorgeous beaded white dress from Zara, and I was planning on rocking it for Fall with thick tights. This pleasant weather,however, allowed me to wear the dress bare legged with my Rag & Bone boots. I couldn’t decide what coat to wear with it, so I decided to try out two different looks. First, I paired the dress with this incredible leopard coat I got from Nordstrom! What a great buy! It’s waterproof and super warm!  A leopard coat is a staple every girl should have in her closet, and at this price, it’s worth it!  Second, I tried it on with the sweater I bought at the Margiella for H&M preview I attended two weeks ago. (I love how designers are making their lines more affordable for the general public by doing collaborations!)  I love the look of white on white as well. What was that rule about white after Labor Day? Yea….right…..so 10 years ago! LOL  BTW, I am loving my Pamela Love medium tribal spike necklace! (Last seen HERE). It’s bold, unique, and makes any outfit more special!

Margiela For H&M Preview

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the exclusive Maison Martin Margiela for H&M preview. (Thank you Karen for the invite!)  What a night! The line is outlandish, artistic, edgy, and tailored for those who want to make a statement. From performance art, confetti from the mile high ceiling, celebs attending, and the incredible space, last night was an experience! Love these basic black flat boots.  You can wear these season after season.

The classic black bootie, updated with a clear wedge bottom. Very space age. Love.

Eye catching fusion of a glove and purse. Definitely a conversation starter.

Awesome deconstructed leather jacket.  Pieced together leather panels and strips that form part leather jacket, part art piece. Love the look. It looked great on my friend Karen who modeled it for me. 😉 At $249, it’s a great price for such a cool piece!

I had to grab this reissue of this super thick, cozy sweater/jacket.  I plan on wearing this over everything to lace dresses and long tunics.

Hello, and happy Fall!! I had the opportunity to shoot with the amazing Katharine Andriotis again recently, and we decided to go to the Union Square farmers market. I don’t know about you, but the moment Fall arrives, all I can think about is pumpkins, hot apple cider, and the crisp Fall air!  The Farmer’s market in Union Square was buzzing with energy.  The fresh organic fruits and veggies were incredible, and I really love the spirit of the Autumn season.  Orange is my favorite Fall color, so I was really happy to receive this beautiful clutch courtesy of Asos, and my amazing friend Meg at RS. This Levi’s denim jacket is perfect for this weather, and you can literally throw it over everything. And, I am still wearing my Rag & Bone Newbury boots everywhere! They are insanely comfortable!  The outfit I wore is a perfect example of mixing high end items, with very low end items.     (I think my skirt and top were $15 dollars from Forever 21! See links below for details!)  I also love adding bright touches of color to a dark outfit, as I did here, with the neon turquoise belt, and bright orange clutch against dark navy and black. It’s a great way to wear bright colors in the Fall! My amazing boyfriend Chris came along for the shoot, and to pick some fresh veggies with me. 😉  How are you celebrating Fall?

Black and Burgundy

Here are some quick shots as I was running around the city today. 😉 Stopped by Barneys to see what was out for Fall, and also wanted to check out their new windows….THEY ARE GORGEOUS. I also met up with my friends Debbie and Sheree.  Burgundy is a HUGE color this season, so I was happy to finally be able to wear my burgundy Balenciaga quilted jacket.  (This was another huge investment buy.) When I saw the color I had to get it! I am actually seeing this color EVERYWHERE now. I will be doing a blog post soon on the best deals this season on bags, shoes, jackets and clothing in this deep rich color. Stay tuned for that! 😉 xoxo Julie
