Snow Day

Snow DaySnow DaySnow DaySnow DayWe had our first real snow storm of 2014 in NYC!  I wore my extra thick and cozy Isabel Marant for H&M Sweater, but even that could not keep me from freezing.  Trust me, I ran inside right after taking these photos for some hot tea and blankets! LOL

I still love bright colors in Winter, I think they brighten up your mood.  I also love the print on this sweater, and even though it sold out fast, I found tons of sweaters that achieve the same look! Check below for all the links! Details on outfit below!

By the way…. my SensatioNail mani has lasted me over two weeks since Christmas! I seriously love this at home gel polish!

How are you staying warm this Winter? Share in the comments!

XOXOXO

I don’t ever remember it being this warm in the city this time of year.  As strange as it may sound, I actually miss the December cold!  But, it was nice to attend my best friend’s baby shower today without even having to wear a coat! The floral top made it feel even more like Spring. 😉 I guess we won’t have a white Christmas this year.  (Well, never say never!)  Details on everything are below.

Black and Gold

Julie resized edited
Happy Black Friday! Have you survived the shopping mayhem?  It seems to get crazier every year.  I am going to share my Black Friday scores with you in a special post tomorrow. 😉  As for today, I wore black and gold, which is one of my favorite color combos.  I got this Michael Kors coat on sale at Macy’s. There are TONS of deals online now, so if there is anything you have been lusting after, now is the time to buy! The boots are Alexa Chung for Madewell, which were an Ebay score since they are sold out everywhere. The calf hair helps to keep the feet warm, which is welcome in the current freezing temps NYC is experiencing! Stay warm everyone! Details on everything I am wearing, and similar looks, are all below!  Let me know what you think in the comments!

Currently Craving: Cobalt

Currently Craving CobaltCobalt blue has become my new obsession. You can see here, on my Instagram, that I have a growing collection of cobalt blue items in my closet.  The color is so electric, and alive. It was my mom’s favorite color too- so maybe I inherited my love of the color from her.

I put together some of my current favorite cobalt items for you.  I recently got a 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli crossbody bag in this exact color.  I love it! (Photos to follow soon!) I love the large size Pashli as well. It reminds me of my cobalt blue Celine mini luggage bag which I adore! You can see photos of it HERE.  (Notice a trend with the cobalt blue color?)

What do you think of the color? Do you have a current favorite color you are rocking? Tell me in the comments!

Super Fashion with Super Heroes- NYC Comic Con 2013

Outside Comic Con I love this city 😉

Hanging out with Raiden and Kitana from Mortal Kombat!

Notice the 10 thousand people behind me?

Crowd at comic con

I always wanted to meet a transformer…

Getting some love from some friendly storm troopers 😉

Alien!

Ron Burgundy in the flesh! Sorta….

Meeting David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson was the highlight of the day- and my life!

Baddass costumes

I loved these skulls! Can you guess which one I took home?

A robe for every obsession!

For my fellow Walking Dead fans- how amazing is this doll? (And creepy!)

WALKING DEAD DOLLAnd I’m glad to see that Sci-Fi dating has finally embraced same sex relationships!

2013 was the year that I attended my very first Comic Con.  I had heard about it for years, and knew it was a really cool event, but I never really had reason to attend until this year. Why this year? Well 2013 was the 20th anniversary of The X-Files, a show that changed my life in the 90s, ignited my obsession with Mulder and Scully, and made me “want to believe”. It still remains one of the most brilliant, and groundbreaking shows of Television history.  I am still in awe that I got the chance to meet both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in person, and got to thank them for their creativity and entertainment.  They were both extremely sweet, friendly, and warm. To be honest, I think the real “X-File” is how they look more amazing now then they did 20 years ago!  (The cigarette smoking man may have something to do with this) 😉

Comic Con in general was a ton of fun.  It’s sort of like Halloween, except everyone is a super hero, or comic book character.  My boyfriend Chris and I had a blast walking around and seeing everything.  I hope you enjoy the photos! I wore bright colored sunglasses, and an embellished clutch for the day.  It seemed fitting.  Maybe next year I’ll go in costume. 😉

Let me know in the comments if you have ever attended a Comic Con!
